INVITATIONS TO THE TWENTY-FIRST SPECIAL SESSION
OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR WHICH AUTHORIZATION
BY THE PERMANENT COUNCIL IS REQUIRED
THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,
CONSIDERING the provisions of subparagraphs (c) and (d) of Article 9 of the Rules of
Procedure of the General Assembly,
RESOLVES:
- To authorize the Secretary General of the Organization to invite the inter-American
regional or subregional governmental institutions and agencies specified below and not
included among the organs or agencies of the Organization to be represented by observers
at the Twenty-first Special Session, in accordance with the provisions of Article 9.c of
the Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly:
- Board of the Cartagena Agreement - JUNAC
- Latin American Integration Association - LAIA
- Inter-American Development Bank - IDB
- Caribbean Community - CARICOM
- Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America - OPANAL

- To authorize the Secretary General of the Organization to extend invitations to the
following United Nations specialized agencies and other international organizations which
have not entered into agreements with the Organization containing a provision for
reciprocal attendance at meetings and conferences to be represented by observers at the
Twenty-first Special Session, in accordance with the provisions of Article 9.d of the
Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly:
