Upcoming Events

On 27 January at OAS headquarters, the Department of International Law will hold the sixth working session on the International Criminal Court, within the Committee on Juridical and Political Affairs, and in compliance with the General Assembly mandate on the “Promotion of the International Criminal Court” set out in Resolution AG/RES. 2505 (XXXIX-O/09).

The following will speak at the event: the Secretary of the Assembly of States Parties to the Statute, Dr. Renán Villacis; the Rapporteur of the Inter-American Juridical Committee, Dr. Mauricio Herdocia Sacasa; Dr. Miriam Spitter, representative of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court; Dr. Marco Gerardo Monroy Cabra, Representative of the Government of Colombia; Dr. Francesca Varda, representative of the Organization “Coalition for the International Criminal Court,” and Dr. Deborah Ruíz, Representative of the organization “Parliamentarians for Global Action.” The delegates of the Permanent Missions, representatives of other international organizations and institutions, such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, and representatives of civil society have been invited to cooperate and participate in this working session, which will include a segment of high-level dialogue to discuss issues of interest to the region that will be addressed in the preparatory negotiations and during the Review Conference of the Rome Statute.
