Process for Strengthening the IACHR

Schedule of Forums on the Strengthening of the Inter-American system of Human Rights

As part of its process of strengthening through the reform of its standards, policies and practices, between August and September 2012 the IACHR is promoting a series of Forums and academic events together with key actors of the Inter-American system of protection of human rights. These events are intended to deepen on the reform agenda and its main themes.

The forums are the occasion to convene experts, representatives of Member States and organizations of civil society, in order to dialgoue on the items on the reform agenda. The Forum of Bogota, installed by the President of the Republic of Colombia, Dr. Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, was the first of this series and it was held on August 22 and 23, 2012.

The IACHR announces the following forums to discuss the strengthening of the Inter-American system of protection of human rights:
