Secretary General Receives Chairman of the World Economic Forum USA

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received the Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) USA, Jean-Pierre Rosso, in his office in Washington, DC.

Secretary General Insulza signed during the meeting the agreement by which the OAS formally joined the WEF initiative “Partnerships for Cyber Resilience,” an agreement announced in September. In their talks, the leaders of the OAS and the US branch of the WEF discussed the importance of the cyber security initiative, as well as the state of the economies of the region and their perspectives for the future, the relationships of the economies of the Americas with other regions and other issues on the hemispheric agenda.

Present at the meeting were Alan Marcus, Senior Director and Head of IT and Telecom Industries at the Forum; Paul Spencer, Special Advisor to the Secretary General; and the Senior Program Manager and Programs Coordinator of the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE), Pablo Martínez.
