OAS Secretary General Meets with President of Peru

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, was received in an audience with the President of Peru, Ollanta Humala, in the Palace of Government in Lima.

During the meeting, President Humala and Secretary General Insulza discussed the current political context in the hemisphere, and in particular, the preparations and conversations underway concerning the OAS General Assembly, which will be held from June 4 to 6 in Antigua, Guatemala. President Humala was accompanied during the meeting by his Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rafael Roncagliolo, while Secretary General attended with his Secretary of Multidimensional Security, Adam Blackwell and the Representative of the OAS in Peru, David Morris.

The OAS leader travelled to Lima to take part in the World Economic Forum for Latin America. In addition to attending several conferences, he gave an address to a panel titled “Drug Policy: Untying the Knot
