OAS Secretary General Meets with Foreign Minister of Peru

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru, Eda Rivas Franchini, in Antigua, Guatemala, at the forty-third regular session of the OAS General Assembly, which opened on Tuesday and closes on Thursday, June 6.

Among other matters, they discussed the core theme of the General Assembly session, “For a Comprehensive Policy against the World Drug Problem in the Americas”; the OAS Report on the Drug Problem in the Americas; and the visit to the OAS by Peru's President, Ollanta Humala, later this month.

Also at the meeting were the Chief of Staff of the Secretary General, Hugo de Zela, and the Permanent Representative of Peru to the OAS, Walter Jorge Albán.
