Secretary General meets with Foreign Minister of Costa Rica

Today the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica, Manuel González, during the activities prior to the opening of the 44th General Assembly of the Organization.

Secretary General Insulza and Foreign Minister González talked about the various issues that will be discussed by the representatives of the OAS Member States during the hemispheric assembly, being held under the theme of “Development with Social Inclusion.” Both men noted the effects that various OAS programs under way in the different countries of the hemisphere have had on reducing inequality.

The meeting was also attended by the Permanent Representative of Costa Rica to the OAS, Edgar Ugalde Álvarez, and the Secretary General’s Chief of Staff, Ambassador Hugo de Zela.
