OAS Secretary General Reiterated his Support and Attendance at Seventh Summit of the Americas

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received the Permanent Representative of Panama to the OAS, Jorge Miranda, who delivered to him the formal invitation sent by the President of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, in his capacity as leader of the host country, to the Seventh Summit of the Americas, which will take place in the Central American country on April 11 and 12.

Secretary General Insulza thanked President Varela for the courtesy and reiterated the willingness of the OAS to support the holding of the event, as Secretariat of the Joint Summits Working Group, a body made up of the organizations of the Inter-American System to attend to the Summits and follow-up on their agreements and commitments.
