OAS Secretary General Met with Presidents of Haiti and Honduras

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, held meetings today with the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly, and of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, in the context of his visit to San José, Costa Rica, where he took part in the Third CELAC Summit.

The main topics of both meetings focused on the regional political panorama, with special attention to the next Summit of the Americas, which will convene the Heads of State and Government of the 35 member states of the OAS in April in Panama. In addition, they discussed the areas of cooperation between the OAS and its member states.

In the meeting with President Martelly, the Haitian Foreign Minister, Duly Brutus, was present, while President Hernández attended the meeting accompanied by his Secretary for External Relations and International Cooperation, Arturo Corrales.

The meetings of Secretary General Insulza with President Hernández and President Martelly took place during the Third Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which took place today in the Costa Rican capital.
