OAS Secretary General Meets with Members of Congress of the United States

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with a group of members of Congress from the United States in the framework of the Seventh Summit of the Americas which begins today in Panama City, Panama.

During the meeting, the legislators and Secretary General Insulza discussed several aspects of the current political context in the Hemisphere, among them the presence of Cuba for the first time at the Summit and the political dynamics within the OAS.

The meeting included the members of the House of Representatives Jeff Duncan, Eliot Engel, David Schweikert, Bradley Byrne, Charles Rangel, Sam Farr, Gregory Meeks, David Cicilline, Joaquin Castro, Mark Takano and Barbara Lee as well as the Secretary for External Relations of the OAS, Alfonso Quiñonez.
