The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, participated today in the launch of the Spanish version of the book "The OAS and International Law," written by the OAS Secretary for Legal Affairs, Jean Michel Arrighi, in a ceremony held at the Hall of the Americas at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington, DC.

In his speech, Secretary General Insulza highlighted that the text traces the evolution of the law of the Americas, including the history of all Inter-American treaties, all born within the OAS with the exception of the Treaty of Tlatelolco, on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America.

The event, led by the Secretary for External Relations of the OAS, Alfonso Quiñonez, was also attended by the former OAS Secretary General Luigi Einaudi and the Permanent Representative of Mexico to the Organization, Ambassador Emilio Rabasa.
