The National University of Costa Rica today donated to the Columbus Library of the Organization of American States (OAS) more than 30 books by various Costa Rican authors, covering topics from politics to history and literature. The donation was managed by the Costa Rican mission accredited to the hemispheric organization.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Enrique Castillo Barrantes, outgoing Costa Rican representative to the OAS and future Foreign Minister of the country, handed over his position as Chairman of the Friends of the Columbus Library to the current Permanent Representative of Canada, Ambassador Allan Culham.

The event also served as an opportunity for the presentation of “Don Pedro Rivera: Un hombre irrepetible” (Don Pedro Rivera: An Unrepeatable Man”) by writer and Ambassador of the Dominican Republic for the United Nations, Virgilio Alcántara.
