The Organization of American States (OAS) and the International Road Federation (IRF) today signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen human and institutional capabilities in the area of road infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Under the agreement, signed by the Acting Executive Secretary for Integral Development of the OAS, Jorge Saggiante, and the CEO of the IRF, Patrick Sankey, both institutions will organize and disseminate training workshops in the planning of roads, and provide scholarships for professionals in the region who wish to do postgraduate studies in the United States.
