Member States Discuss the Role of the OAS in Meeting the Sustainable Development Objectives

The Permanent Council and the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a joint meeting on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 10:00 EST (15:00 GMT) in Simon Bolivar Hall to analyze “Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in member States: The role for the Organization of American States.”

The meeting will include presentations by the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, the Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Inter-Agency Affairs of the United Nations, Thomas Gass, and from Member States on the operationalization of the SDGs in their countries.
