OAS to Host Discussion on Political and Human Rights Situation in Venezuela

The Organization of American States (OAS) will host, on Tuesday, March 21 at 11:30 EDT (15:30 GMT), a discussion on the political and human rights situation in Venezuela at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC.

The event, which will feature a discussion by prominent human rights organizations from Venezuela, will be opened by the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro.

Participants will include:

• Inti Rodriguez, Research Coordinator of Provea
• Marco Antonio Ponce, Director of the Observatorio Venezolano de Conflictividad Social
• Mercedes De Freitas, Executive Director of Transparencia Venezuela
• Gonzalo Himiob, Director of Foro Penal Venezuela.

The panel discussion will be followed by a question and answer session with the public.

The meeting will be broadcast live on the OAS Facebook page.
