Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism to Hold Annual Session

The Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism (CICTE) of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold its Twelfth Regular Session on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Organization’s headquarters in Washington, DC. The meeting will bring together high-level government officials from around the region, whose discussions will focus on “Strengthening Cyber-Security in the Americas.”
At the inaugural event, which will take place at 9:00 am EST (14:00 GMT), the Secretary General of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza and a representative of the Chairman of the CICTE, a position currently being held by Grenada, will deliver opening remarks. Other experts presenting at the meeting include, Jamie Saunders, Deputy Director of the Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance of the United Kingdom; Cheri F. McGuire, Vice President for Global Government Affairs and Cyber Security Policy, Symantec Corporation; and Christopher Painter Coordinator for Cyber Issues, US State Department.
