Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.
Approximately six weeks after the end of each semester, the OAS publishes a Semiannual Management and Performance Report, which since 2013 includes reporting on programmatic results. The full texts may be found here.

The OAS has discussed for several years the real estate issue, the funding required for maintenance and repairs, as well as the deferred maintenance of its historic buildings. “ONE LAPTOP PER CHILD” FOUNDER NICHOLAS NEGROPONTE TO HEADLINE NEXT OAS LECTURE

Nicholas Negroponte, founder and chairman of the non-profit organization “One Laptop Per ChildOne Laptop Per Child,” will headline the fourteenth conference in the Lecture Series of the Americas on Tuesday, July 25. Negroponte will speak about his efforts to revolutionize education worldwide through the development of low-cost computers.
Author of the 1995 best seller entitled Being Digital, Negroponte is currently on leave from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was co-founder and director of the MIT Media Laboratory, and the Jerome B. Wiesner Professor of Media Technology. An MIT graduate, Negroponte was a pioneer in the field of computer-aided design, and has been a member of the MIT faculty since 1966. He also serves on the board of directors for Motorola, Inc. and as general partner in a venture capital firm specializing in digital technologies for information and entertainment. He has provided start-up funds for more than 40 companies, including Wired magazine.
Following his main address, which will be webcast live (www.oas.org), Negroponte will take questions from the audience. The event will be broadcast by radio and television at a date to be announced.
After Negroponte’s presentation, a separate ceremony will be held to launch The Lecture Series of the Americas: A Lesson in Democracy, a book marking the first anniversary of the OAS series.
Created by the OAS Permanent Council to promote democratic principles and values in the countries of the hemisphere, the Lecture Series of the Americas invites internationally renowned speakers to address key hemispheric agenda issues, such as the strengthening of democracy, human rights, social development, hemispheric security and the fight against poverty. The conferences are being held thanks to a financial contribution from Peru’s San Martín de Porres University.
