OAS Hosts 51st Lecture of the Americas “Promoting Human Development and Quality Education in the Americas”

The Organization of American States (OAS), will host, this Friday, April 19, the 51st Lecture of the Americas, focused on the issue “Promoting Human Development and Quality Education in the Americas,” in the Rubén Darío Room of the General Secretariat Building of the organization in Washington, DC.

The Secretary General of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza, will deliver the welcoming remarks for the event, before the central presentation by Irina Bokova, Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Later, there will be a question and answer session moderated by Sherry Tross, the Executive Secretary for Integral Development of the OAS. The closing remarks will be delivered by the Permanent Representative of Barbados and Chair of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI), John Beale.

The meeting will be broadcast live on the OAS Website.
