OAS to Hold Small Hotels Forum in Antigua and Barbuda

The Organization of American States (OAS) is organizing a forum for Caribbean Small Hotels in Antigua and Barbuda that will provide owners and operators access to new information on service quality, the culture of hospitality, social responsibility, marketing, technological tools and information systems for the tourism sector and the use of social media by small hotels. The forum will be held at the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute in Antigua from July 12 to 13.

The forum, arranged in conjunction with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority with the support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the governments of Luxembourg and Serbia, is part of the Small Tourism Enterprise Network initiative.

The initiative is part of the Office of Tourism’s Sustainable Tourism Program for 2012 under the auspices of the Small Tourism Enterprise Network (STEN) Project and focuses on improving the competitiveness of small and medium tourism enterprises. Owners and operators of small hotels from 14 Caribbean countries as well as public sector officials involved with the development and support of the small hotels sub-sector in the region are expected to participate.
