OAS to Hold Workshop for Central America and the Dominican Republic on Participation and Access to Information for Sustainable Development in El Salvador

The Organization of American States (OAS) will hold, on Thursday, May 23, in San Salvador, the first Regional Workshop on "Mechanisms of Participation and Access to Information for Sustainable Development" for the countries of Central America and the Dominican Republic.

The purpose of the workshop is to promote access to information in the Mesoamerican region, revealing formal opportunities and mechanisms for nationwide participation. The event takes place within the framework of the project to strengthen public participation mechanisms in the region, under the OAS Department of Sustainable Development, and aims to implement the Inter-American Strategy for the Promotion of Public Participation in Decision-making for Sustainable Development (ISP).

The workshop will be attended by the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of El Salvador, Hernán Rosa Chávez, and representatives of the Central American region and the Dominican Republic working in areas related to the environment, trade and the economy.
