OAS Secretary for Multidimensional Security Travels to Brazil to Meet with Authorities

The Secretary for Multidimensional Security of the Organization of American States (OAS), Adam Blackwell, will travel to Brazil on Sunday, August 28, to meet with representatives of the government of said country, among them Justice Minister José Eduardo Cardozo, and other authorities, to talk about the preparations for the next Meeting of Ministers of the Americas responsible for Public Security, to be held in November 2011 in Trinidad and Tobago.

The high-level OAS representative, who will be accompanied by experts on matters of security, also will hold meetings with the Director of Viva Río Institute, Ruben Cesar Fernández, to whom he will present the OAS proposals on firearms control, and with the Director of Security of the Olympic Games of 2016, Luis Fernando Correia.
