OAS Co-organizes IX Americas Competitiveness Forum in Guatemala

The Organization of American States (OAS) will co-organize the IX Americas Competitiveness Forum beginning Monday in Guatemala City. This edition of the event will include the participation of more than 1,000 representatives of governments and the private sector of the Americas.

The event, organized by the OAS with the Government of Guatemala and the Chamber of Industry of Guatemala, will focus on the theme "Stronger Institutions = More Competitiveness."

Among the topics to be discussed at the panels, lectures and business meetings at the Forum are: entrepreneurship and innovation in the hemisphere; investment trends and strategies for sustainable production and consumption in the Americas and "Shaking up institutions, turning a crisis into an opportunity: Guatemala’s awakening."

The Americas Competitiveness Forum is the most important annual event of its kind in the region, bringing together national and regional authorities, entrepreneurs and business people, and renowned scholars from the member countries of the OAS. Since its beginning, more than ten thousand leaders of the region have strengthened their contact networks through the Competitiveness Forums.
