OAS and SICA to debate the trafficking of firearms in San Salvador

The Organization of American States (OAS), through the Department of Public Security, and the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System (SICA) will meet Wednesday, September 28th, in San Salvador to assess progress in legislation related to preventing and combating the illicit trafficking of firearms in Central America.

During the event, representatives of government and of legislative bodies of the seven countries that form the SICA will analyze the advances and challenges present in their legal system for the effective implementation of the Inter-American Convention Against Illicit Manufacturing and Trafficking of Fire Arms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials (CIFTA)
