OAS and IE Launch Scholarship Program for Master’s Degrees – Winter 2011
September 16, 2010
The General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS), with the help of the Department of Human Development, Education, and Culture, and in collaboration with the Instituto de Empresa (IE), launched the scholarship program winter 2011 granting access to students from OAS Member States to various Master’s programs offered by the Spanish university.
Through these scholarships, the OAS and IE are hoping to offer young, ambitious leaders of the Americas the opportunity to participate in one of five graduate programs (Master’s in International Management, Master’s in Sports Management, Master’s in Biotechnology Management, Master’s in Legal Business Counseling, and a Master’s in Architectural Management and Design) so they may receive an exceptional education and later contribute to the development of their countries.
The program will offer each student scholarships of 30% to 50% in tuition costs depending on the program of study. IE students who complete their program’s requirements and acquire their graduation certificate will also be eligible to participate in the OAS internship program.
The student’s academic record, professional background and knowledge of languages are the principal criteria considered during the selection process, in which eleven scholarships will be awarded for winter 2011 with a value of more than $100,000.
The scholarship deadline is November 20 and the responses will be sent out beginning December 8, 2010. Courses will commence in the February-March timeframe in 2011 in Madrid, and will be offered in Spanish or English depending on the program of choice.
Additional information concerning the Scholarship Program’s requirements is available on the following websites: www.educoas.org or on www.ie.edu/scholarships.
