Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS and ISA Launch Cyber Risk Management Manual for Executive Boards in Latin America and Caribbean

The Organization of American States (OAS) and Internet Security Alliance (ISA) today presented the Cyber Risk Management Manual for Executive Boards, a joint white paper which collects best practices and lessons learned to improve cybersecurity in companies.
The Manual resumes best practices from the National Association for Corporate Directors (NACD) of the United States and adapts them to Latin America and Caribbean’s reality. For that purpose, insights from many workshops with directors of private companies held in the region during the last year were used. The Manual establishes cybersecurity as a key process for companies and invites upper management to reflect on their current cybersecurity practices and protection of information.
“We took the successful NACD model, and, based on our extensive in-region research, adapted it to the unique needs and culture of Latin America,” said Larry Clinton, President and CEO of ISA. “This includes addressing the unique roles families play on corporate boards in the region as well as the emergence of new privacy rules and regulations and the growth of the Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) the governments are sponsoring. We also had to address the need to build trust among industry and between industry and government to create a unified effort to push back against the criminals. I want to thank and congratulate the OAS for their vision and leadership in engaging in this much needed effort,” said Clinton.
For her part, the Secretary for Multidimensional Security of the OAS, Farah Urrutia, said “it is important to continue calling on citizens, companies and governments to face the challenges posed by digital security, which directly affects the access of our citizens to many of their rights. This Manual which we present today collects clear and precise recommendations to incorporate good practices in cyber risk management. We are confident that this publication will continue to increase the knowledge in the region, for a more safe and reliable cyberspace.”
