OAS Secretary General Expects a Peaceful Electoral Process in Venezuela

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States, José Miguel Insulza, said today, referring to Sunday's presidential election in Venezuela on October 7, that he expects "a peaceful process and a result as early as possible."
Insulza said "for various reasons, many in the region are watching this election expectantly and hoping that the Venezuelan people and those responsible for the election will conduct a peaceful and transparent process, that strengthens democracy in Latin America."
