On April 8th, 2009, the Inter-American Children’s Institute (IIN) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will sign an agreement to strengthen and promote the Rights of Children and Adolescents in the Inter-American System. The signing ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington D.C.

The project, that will last 3 years, aims to strengthen the intervention capacity of national governments and their institutions in their responsibility as rights guarantors, making effective the rights of children, adolescents and their families. It will be implemented in four countries in Latin America and the Caribbean identified based on a number of criteria and CIDA priorities.
