The “Collaboratory” in “Inter-American Collaboratory on the Teaching Profession (Co-TEP)” speaks to the very nature of the new knowledge bank, launched by the OAS-SEDI on November 19 at a meeting of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI). The name was inspired by a term that joins “collaboration” and “laboratory” to refer to a model of knowledge production and of social relations based on collaboration, sharing and cooperation for the common good (originally coined by UNESCO’s General Director, Koichirō Matsuura). » Read more

OAS awards over 400 scholarships in collaboration with Brazil and Mexico

Cooperation in social protection: exchanging experiences, expanding opportunities

The first week of November 2013 was a busy week for the OAS Department of Human Development, Education and Employment (DHDEE), as the selection of awardees for over 400 scholarships took place, effectively increasing access to higher-education in the Americas. The awarded scholarships are part of the Partnerships Program for Education and Training (PAEC) established in 2010, and are the direct result of valuable partnerships with two OAS Member States, Brazil and Mexico. » Read more
