The following page describes actions taken during 2013 regarding multilateral treaties.

On July 26, 2013, Costa Rica informed on the designation of the "Oficina de Asesoría Técnica y Relaciones Internacionales (OATRI) - Ministerio Público, Fiscalía General de la República de Costa Rica" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials.

On July 26, 2013, Costa Rica informed on the designation of the "Oficina de Asesoría Técnica y Relaciones Internacionales (OATRI) - Ministerio Público, Fiscalía General de la República de Costa Rica" as the central authority for the -American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.

On June 6, 2013, the following member States signed the Inter-American Convention against Racism, Racial Discrimination, and Related Intolerance, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Uruguay.

On June 6, 2013, the following member States signed the Inter-American Convention against All Forms of Discrimination and Intolerance, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Uruguay.

On June 5, 2013, the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) adopted the Inter-American Convention against Racism, Racial Discrimination, and Related Intolerance and the Inter-American Convention against All Forms of Discrimination and Intolerance.

On May 14, 2013, the General Secretariat received Note II.2E8.D-OEA.10-2605 from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, by which said country delivered the instrument of denunciation of the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (Rio Treaty) in accordance with Article 25 of said Treaty. The following OAS member states are parties to the Treaty: Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela. The Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (Rio Treaty) was previously denounced by Mexico on September 6, 2002, Nicaragua on September 20, 2012 and Bolivia on October 17, 2012.

On April 24, 2013, Paraguay submitted a list of "protected wilderness areas in the public domain, private, biospheres and autonomous bodies" in the framework of the Convention on Nature Protection and Wild Life Preservation in the Western Hemisphere, through the attached note 286-13/MPP/OEA.

On April 10, 2013, the General Secretariat received from the Permanent Mission of Bolivia to the OAS note verbale OEA MPB-OEA-ND-039-13, which contains the instrument withdrawing the reservation to article VI of American Treaty on Pacific Settlements.

On March 22, 2013, Colombia deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention to facilitate disaster assistance.

On February 23, 2013, Mexico informed on the designation of the "Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores – Dirección General de Protección a Mexicanos en el Exterior- Dirección de Derecho de Familia" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention on the international return of children.

On February 23, 2013, Mexico informed on the designation of the "Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores – Dirección General de Protección a Mexicanos en el Exterior- Dirección de Derecho de Familia" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention on Support Obligations.

On February 12, 2013, Paraguay informed on the designation of the "Secretaría Nacional Anticorrupción (SENAC)" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention against Corruption.
