On December 12, 2016, Costa Rica deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against Racism, Racial Discrimination, and Related Intolerance, at the OAS headquarters, in Washington, D.C. United States.

On November 18, 2016, Uruguay deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on Protecting the Human Rights of Older Persons, at the OAS headquarters, in Washington, D.C. United States.

On August 22, 2016, Brazil informed on the designation of the "Department of Assets Recovery and International Legal Cooperation (DRCI)" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, the Protocol to the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, the Inter-American Convention on Proof of and Information of Foreign Law, the Inter-American Convention on International Traffic in Minors, the Inter-American Convention on Support Obligations, the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption, the Inter-American Convention Against Illicit of and Trafficking in Firearms, the Inter-American Convention on Serving Criminal Sentences Abroad, the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters and the Optional Protocol related to the Inter-American Convention onMutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.

On July 20, 2016, the General Secretariat received from the Permanent Mission of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to the OAS the verbal note, No.66/16, pursuant to article 6 of the Convention on Private International Law of 1928, which further notes that after six months the State concerned may deposit the instrument of accession.

On June 9, 2016, the Plurinational State of Bolivia signed the Inter-American Convention on Protecting the Human Rights of Older Persons at the OAS headquarters, in Washington, D.C., United States.
