This has been carried out through the adoption of national plans of action, which were created with the full participation of the public sector and civil society, for the implementation of said recommendations.

The Conference, which will take place June 3 – 4, will include discussion and dialogue panels between national and international experts on issues of transparency and the fight against corruption, as well as national authorities responsible for the formulation of public policy and other necessary measures aimed at implementing the MESICIC recommendations. In addition, the Conference will count on the participation of some of the national consultants that took part in the development of the national plans of action, as well as representatives from non-governmental organizations, both from academia and civil society.

Hemispheric cooperation against corruption, transparency and merit in the hiring of public servants, access to information and civil society participation, transparency in government procurement as well as criminal sanctions for corruption, international cooperation for their effectiveness and protection of whistleblowers are some of the topics to be tackled during both days of the Conference.
