Washington, D.C. —The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) will hold its 192nd Ordinary Period of Sessions between February 24 and March 7, 2025. The public hearings will take place online between March 3 and 7, following a week of internal sessions.

Starting November 13, 2024, the IACHR will be accepting requests for public hearings concerning any Member State of the Organization of American States (OAS) through the online system available in the organization's four official languages: English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. The deadline for submissions is December 3, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST (Washington, DC).

Applicants will be notified of decisions regarding hearings approximately one month in advance. The hearing schedule will be published on the IACHR website no later than 10 days before the start of the 192nd Period of Sessions.

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) is an autonomous body of the Organization of American States (OAS) whose mandate is based on the OAS Charter and the American Convention on Human Rights. Its mission is to promote and defend human rights throughout the Americas and to serve as an advisory body to the OAS in this area. The IACHR consists of seven independent members elected by the OAS General Assembly who serve in a personal capacity and do not represent their countries of origin or residence.
