OAS Secretary General Meets with the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States, José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas, in the framework of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), taking place in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.


During the meeting, Secretary General Insulza presented to Prime Minister Douglas the Report on the Drug Problem in the Americas, produced under his supervision pursuant to a mandate from the Sixth Summit of the Americas which took place last year in Cartagena, Colombia.


In addition, they discussed the current political and economic situation in the Caribbean country, and the contributions of the programs of the OAS to the development of Saint Kitts and Nevis, for which Prime Minister Douglas expressed his gratitude.
