The new Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the Organization of American States, Wendy Acevedo, presented her credentials to the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, in a ceremony at the Organization's headquarters in Washington, DC.

Secretary General Almagro highlighted Ambassador Acevedo's experience in the Organization and expressed his conviction that the Salvadoran diplomat will continue to make a significant contribution to the work of the hemispheric organization. “Ambassador Acevedo's training, her personal qualities, her professional experience and her years dedicated to the Organization of American States are a guarantee of the contribution that we will now receive in her position as Ambassador,” said Secretary General Almagro.

For her part, Ambassador Acevedo emphasized her country's commitment to multilateralism for the benefit of the people of the region. “El Salvador is ready to bet on our national experience, to contribute with our capabilities to the work of this Organization to advance our four pillars in a comprehensive and articulated manner, based on mutual respect and good faith,” said Ambassador Acevedo.

Ambassador Acevedo has served since 2010 in the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the OAS, as Counselor, Deputy Ambassador, and Acting Representative Ambassador.
