OAS Secretary General Received Inter-American Defense Board President-elect

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received the President-elect of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), Vice Admiral Gonzalo Ríos, in his office at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington, DC.

During the meeting, the leader of the hemispheric institution and the Peruvian military officer discussed the current role of the IADB in the Inter-American System and the hemispheric context, among other issues.

The meeting also included the participation of the Permanent Representative of Peru to the OAS, Juan Federico Jiménez; the Chief of Staff of the Secretary General, Hugo de Zela; and the Alternate Representative of Peru, Raúl Salazar.
