The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today met with the President of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo Solís, and the Minister of External Relations, Manuel González, in the framework of his participation in the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in the Central American country.

During the meeting, the Secretary General expressed his gratitude to President Solís for the support he has received from his government and country during his mandate as leader of the hemispheric institution, and for the commitment of Costa Rica to the OAS and the Inter-American system.

President Solís thanked Secretary General Insulza for his participation in the Summit and highlighted his leadership during the ten years at the head of the OAS which concludes on May 25.
