Secretary General of the OAS Received Venezuelan Opposition Leader

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, received Carlos Vecchio, Opposition leader, political coordinator and international representative of the Venezuelan political party “Voluntad Popular” on Friday in his office in Washington, DC.

During the meeting, the two discussed the situation in Venezuela, with particular attention paid to the need for dialogue to address the problems facing the country.

Over the last year and a half, Secretary General Insulza has reiterated on several occasions the need for the government and opposition in Venezuela to establish a dialogue to reach solutions to the political situation in the South American country (November 2013, February 2014 and March 2014).
