Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

Press Conference to Present Conclusions on the Meeting of Regional Organizations on Democracy

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, alongside the Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Jean Ping; the Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), Tuiloma Neroni Slade; the Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Dhiyana Fathimath Saeed; and the Secretary General of International IDEA, Vidar Helgesen, will offer a press conference tomorrow at 14:00 EDT (18:00 GMT). During the event there will be a presentation on the conclusions of the first Meeting of the “Interregional Dialogue on Democracy," which the OAS co-organized with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) at the headquarters of the hemispheric Organization in Washington, DC.
At the conference, the Director of the External Relations Directorate of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Mely Caballero-Anthony, and the Ambassador of the League of Arab States to the U.S.A, Hussein Hassouna, will also be available to the press.
Afterwards, at 15:00 EDT (19:00 GMT), Secretary General Insulza will welcome participants to the XLIV Lecture Series of the Americas, titled, “Regional Perspectives on Democracy: Celebrating Ten Years of the Inter-American Democratic Charter,” with an introduction by the Chair of the Permanent Council and Permanent Representative of Grenada to the OAS, Ambassador Gillian Bristol, and the participation of Jean Ping and Vidar Helgesen as speakers. The event will be held in the Hall of the Americas.
