OAS Permanent Council to Celebrate Twentieth Anniversary of the Inter-American Democratic Charter

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special virtual meeting, on Friday, September 17 at 10:00 EDT (14:00 GMT) to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Inter-American Democratic Charter.

The event will include remarks by:

o The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and Chair of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Gaston Browne,
o The Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia, Marta Lucía Ramírez,
o The Minister-Secretary for Human Rights of the Republic of Ecuador, Bernarda Ordoñez,
o The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala, Pedro Brolo Vila,
o The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru¸ Óscar Maúrtua,
o The Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs of the Republic of Costa Rica, Christian Guillermet-Fernández,
o The United States Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Ricardo Zúñiga,
o The Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Luis Almagro, and
o The Permanent Representative of Peru to the United Nations, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru, and former Permanent Representative of Peru to the Organization of American States, Manuel Rodríguez Cuadros.
