OAS Permanent Council to Consider the Situation in Guatemala

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special meeting TOMORROW, Wednesday, July 26 at 10:30 EDT (14:30 GMT) in the Simon Bolivar room at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C., “to consider the situation in Guatemala.”

The meeting will include presentations by:

• The President Magistrate of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Guatemala, Irma Elizabeth Palencia Orellana;
• The Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, Tania Reneaum Panszi; and
• The Chief of the OAS Electoral Observation Mission deployed for the general elections held in Guatemala on June 25, 2023, Eladio Loizaga.
