NEW DATE AND TIME: OAS Permanent Council to Consider the Situation in Guatemala

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special meeting on FRIDAY, September 1 at 10:30 EDT (14:30 GMT) in the Simon Bolivar room at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C., to consider “the situation in Guatemala.”

The meeting will include presentations by:

• The Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Righ (IACHR), Tania Reneaum, and
• The Chief of the Electoral Observation Mission of the Organization of American States deployed in Guatemala for the general elections held on June 25, 2023, and for the presidential run-off election of August 20, 2023, Eladio Loizaga.
