OAS Policy Dialogue on “Money Laundering and its Relationship with Corruption Investigations”

The Organization of American States (OAS) will hold, on September 12 in Washington D.C., a policy dialogue on “Money Laundering and its Relationship with Corruption Investigations.” The event takes place within the framework of the Mechanism for Follow-up and Implementation of the Lima Commitment: Democratic Governance against Corruption, adopted during the VIII Summit of the Americas.

The event will promote the exchange of information on money laundering and corruption and will provide an updated overview on the evolution of the phenomenon of money laundering and its relationship with corruption investigations. National cases in which the OAS and other organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank have supported will be analyzed.

The event will feature presentations by:

  • The Secretary of Hemispheric Affairs of the OAS, James Lambert;
  • The Permanent Representative of Peru to the OAS, Chair of the Summits Process, José Boza;
  • The OAS Secretariat for Multidimensional Security, Farah Diva Urrutia;
  • The Secretary of Public Integrity of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and General Coordinator of the High Level Anti-Corruption Commission of Peru, Susana Silva;
  • Spokeswoman of the Mission to Support the Fight against Corruption and Impunity in Honduras (MACCIH / OAS) and Special Representative of the OAS Secretary General, Ana María Calderón;
  • The specialists of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Jacopo Gamba and María Cecilia Álvarez;
  • The Senior Specialist, Department for Transnational Organized Crime, OAS Secretariat for Multidimensional Security, John Grajales;
  • The Supreme Judge and President of the Judicial Integrity Commission of Peru, Janet Tello Gilardi;
  • The Senior Financial Integrity Specialist / STaR Initiative, World Bank, Lisa Bostwick;
  • The Director of the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network (ARIN-CARIB), Grenville Williams;
  • The Acting Director of the OAS Summit Secretariat, María Celina Conte.
