Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

IX Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Culture to Take Place in Guatemala

The IX Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Culture and Highest Appropriate Authorities will be held this Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28 in Antigua, Guaemala under the slogan: “Technology, Creativity and Innovation as an Opportunity for Developing and Strengthening of Culture.”
The IX Meeting will allow OAS member states to hold a broader discussion on the role of technology, creativity, and innovation in strengthening culture and artistic expression in the future.These discussions will include the exchange of information and experiences on how technologies have been used in efforts to collect, preserve and disseminate arts and cultural heritage, and how to strengthen tangible and intangible heritage through innovation and the use of new technologies. Moreover, the IX Meeting offers the opportunity to explore how artists and cultural stakeholders managed to maintain their livelihoods during Covid 19; including their adaptation to new circumstances, use of technology tools and support from government during this time.
The event will be opened by the President of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei; the OAS Assistant Secretary General, Nestor Mendez; the Minister of Culture and Sports of Guatemala, Felipe Aguilar; and the Chair of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) and Permanent Representative of Grenada to the OAS, Ambassador Yolande Y. Smith; and will take place at the National Museum of Art of Guatemala (MUNAG), on Thursday, October 27 at 9:00 CST (15:00 GMT).
