OAS Permanent Council to Consider Situation in Guatemala

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special meeting TOMORROW, Wednesday, November 15 at 14:30 EST (19:30 GMT) in the Simon Bolivar room at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC, to consider the situation in Guatemala.

The meeting will include the following points :

• Report of the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, on the ongoing work of the Accompaniment and Observation Mission for the 2023–2024 Government Transition Process and of the OAS Mediation Mission in Guatemala

• Remarks by former Minister of Defense of Uruguay, Luis Rosadilla, member of the OAS Mediation Mission in Guatemala

• Consideration of the draft resolution “Recent developments impacting the Rule of Law and democratic presidential transition in Guatemala.”
