OAS Permanent Council to Dialogue with Permanent Observers

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a sixth special meeting of the Permanent Council devoted to Permanent Observers accredited at the Hemispheric Organization, under the theme: “A dialogue between Member States and Permanent Observers on immediate challenges: climate change, migration and refugees, citizen security, and equitable development,” on Friday, December 8 at 10:00 EST (15:00 GMT) in the Simon Bolivar room at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC.

The meeting will include the participation of:

• The Chair of the Permanent Council and Permanent Representative of Antigua and Barbuda, Ronald Sanders;
• The OAS Secretary General, Luis Almagro;
• The Permanent Observer of Spain, Carmen Montón;
• The Permanent Observer of Italy, Simone Turchetta;
• The Permanent Observer of France, Antoine Michon;
• The Permanent Observer of Holy See, Monsignor Juan Antonio Cruz Serrano;
• The Permanent Observer of Switzerland, Jacques Pitteloud;
• The Permanent Observer of Ireland, Geraldine Byrne Nason;

• The Permanent Observer of Ukraine, Oksana Markarova;
• The Permanent Observer of Japan, Koichi Ai;
• The Permanent Observer of Portugal, Alexandra Bilreiro;
• The Permanent Observer of Kingdom of the Netherlands, Maarten Boef;
• The Permanent Observer of European Union, Michael Curtis; and
• The Alternate Permanent Observer of China, Zhou Yan.
