OAS SECRETARY GENERAL TO TRAVEL TO ARGENTINA, CHILE AND PARAGUAY

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, will travel on business beginning tomorrow to fulfill several commitments in Argentina, Chile and Paraguay.

Secretary General Insulza is to leave Washington, D.C., on the evening of Wednesday, September 2. On September 3 he is scheduled to deliver the lecture “Justice in the Americas” at the opening of the Conference of the Supreme Courts of the Americas, to be held until September 4 in Buenos Aires under the title, “The Rule of Law.”

On the evening of September 3, the head of the OAS is set to travel to Chile to take part in the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), to be held in Santiago de Chile.

On Monday, September 7, Secretary General Insulza is scheduled to travel to Paraguay, where he is to have meetings with the President of the Republic, Fernando Lugo, the Vice President, Federico Franco, and the President of the National Congress, Miguel Carrizosa, among others.

The OAS Secretary General is scheduled to return to Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, September 9.
