The workshop, aimed at Costa Rican government officials, is intended to raise awareness and provide training on the obligations contained in UN Security Council Resolution 1540 (2004) on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction for terrorist purposes, particularly obligations related to the strategic trade in sensitive dual-use goods and materials. The workshop - available by invitation only - is organized by the OAS Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE) and is funded by the U.S. Department of State.
