This workshop will open a space for discussion for identifying trends and specific behavior patterns on how transnational organized crime transform, transport, transfer, and manage resources of illicit origin, so designated authorities for producing intelligence, investigating, prosecuting and sanctioning illegal mining can increase its knowledge on this type of crime.


The goal is to deepen the knowledge of designated authorities to combat illegal mining, on how illegal mining activity is carried out in Suriname, how Transnational Organized Crime uses de mining sector for illicit activities, and how to combat it from the judicial system.


This workshop is focused on training prosecutors, investigators, tax and customs authorities, financial intelligence analysts, and members of agencies related with combatting illegal mining in Suriname, both from the public and private sectors.
