The visit is aimed at public officials from the governments of Panama and Costa Rica to strengthen knowledge in export control, strategic trade and the implementation of resolution 1540 (2004) of the UN Security Council on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (chemical, nuclear and biological) for terrorist purposes. The visit hopes to encourage the development of export controls in each country after hearing the experience of the United States government.
