In the framework of the Inter-American Network for Police Development and Professionalization (REDPPOL), the Hemispheric Virtual Forum on Best Practices in Implementing the ISO 9001:2015 Standard and the Guidelines for its Application in Police Organizations will be held on September 20. This forum aims to strengthen the capacities of regional police institutions in Police Excellence Management by presenting successful cases in the implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 standard and the Guidelines for its application in police organizations, developed by the Department of Public Security under the auspices of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The event will feature 9 presentations covering the implementation and certification processes in eight police institutions from the region: Carabineros de Chile, the National Police of Colombia, the Public Force of Costa Rica, the National Police of Ecuador, the National Civil Police of El Salvador, the Investigations Police of Chile, the National Police of Paraguay, and the National Police of Uruguay. Each institution will share the challenges faced and the results achieved during and after the implementation of the standard in their respective contexts.

The implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and its Guidelines by police organizations allows for the standardization of processes to optimize police operations, strengthen operational and administrative capacities, promote continuous improvement and service quality, and enhance public perception, among other benefits.
